Cognos Framework Model Helper

Timesaving Features for Framework Manager

Publish updated packages and make quick changes to reports affected by model modifications

MotioPI Professional allows you to edit existing framework models directly within MotioPI. While this is not meant to be a full-fledged replacement for Framework Manager, it does offer several timesaving features such as:

  • Make changes to a Framework Model: Quickly define and change multilingual names for query items, query subjects, namespaces, and various other model elements.
  • Update affected Cognos Reports: MotioPI tracks all of these changes and can pipe the results directly into the MotioPI Search and Replace panel, so that you can automatically correct any impacted objects (e.g. reports, queries, analyses).
  • Publish updated packages: Packages from modified models can also be published directly from MotioPI. All changes made to the model are synchronized back to the associated model.xml files.

MotioPI Pro can be used to pull in an existing Framework Model, make various changes to it, publish the updated package, and then fix all of the affected reports.
